Day One: Cooking


Day One of my 10 Day Detox:

I asked Myra if I needed to give up coffee. As part of a traditional detox, I would indeed give up coffee, but Myra also suggested coffee helps women flush out extra hormones (did she say progesterone, i can't remember). So, for Day 1, I drank a little teeny bit of espresso, my typical morning brew. I can't help it, I adore coffee.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try and drink yerba mate, "the tea of the gods," instead. This will give me "good" caffeine, as would green tea, and a host of other health benefits. It'll be a healthy challenge to give my body a break from its super delicious Italian espresso addiction.

Day 1 Detox Menu:

Breakfast: apple, a few almonds, a little coffee (+ ImpuriClear & Active Fiber)

Lunch: Yummy Spicy Dahl, Potato Leek Soup, Roasted Carrots with Tempeh

Dinner: Sweet Potato Enfrijolada (sans corn tortillas because we ran out)

I had a scoop of ImpuriClear (a nutritional blend from Myra at Ecoterra) & Active Fiber (also from Myra) in a glass of water with my breakfast, which will help me eliminate toxins stored in my body.

Hooray! I'll enjoy the leftovers, too!
