Day Two: Leftovers!



Day 2 of my Detox Menu consists mainly of Day 1 leftovers and cooking more for the week.

The most significant sacrifice of the day was my morning espresso, which I successfully did without!

Day 2 Menu:

Breakfast: yerba mate sipped outside, leftover Potato Leek Soup (+ ImpuriClear & Active Fiber)

Lunch: Leftover Roasted Carrots & Tempeh, Wheat Berries that Sammy made

Dinner: Miso Soup, MORE Leftover Potato Leek Soup (it's oh so good and spicy), One Apple (+ ImpuriClear & Active Fiber)

This evening I feel pretty tired with a slight headache or light-headedness, and I'm not exactly sure why (coffee withdrawal?). But, Myra's Detox guide offers suggestions below:

"As you begin to eliminate foods from your normal diet, detoxifying reactions can result such as disturbances in sleep patterns, changes in body temperature, light-headedness, mood swings, headaches, joint or muscle aches, changes in gastrointestinal function, and changes in body odor or breath. These responses are usually minor and generally lessen in intensity during the program."

All in all, I'm good though, with a lot of food for thought throughout the day......It's nice to be able to reflect on the intersections of food, spirit, & justice.......I feel blessed to be able to spend some time doing so.
